When an Oil Well is Past Continuous Sustainable Production
Impact
Continuously monitoring the impact of RSPO's work is essential for the development of our standards. It also helps us assess the ways in which our work contributes to our shared vision of transforming markets to make sustainable palm oil 'the norm'. In order to achieve this, RSPO is committed to developing, implementing, and improving its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system. Our M&E system uses the RSPO's Theory of Change as a guiding framework, designed to assess progress, performance and impacts of our work, as well as to help inform strategy and drive continuous improvement through learning and adaptive management.

Certification figures
- Certified production volume data is based on projected annual production of the certified mills.
- Supply data is based on monthly availability of the annual certified production volume of mills.
- The difference between certified production volume and supply is due to the differences in certification period of individual mills.
Certified Area and CSPO Volume by Country Certified area includes the mill, mature and immature oil palms area, buildings and infrastructures, HCVs and any area within the boundary of the management unit. Figures inclusive of scheme & independent smallholders.

Estimated Actual Production of RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil Actual Production of CSPO is on average 80% of the Total Certified Volume. Total Certified Volume is the projected volume for the coming year based on the maturity of the oil palms and area under production, and the oil and kernel extraction rate. The Certified Volume is determined and audited in the annual audit process.
Actual Production is the physical volume generated by the mill in the previous year. The Actual Production is recorded during audits.

Certified Supply and Sales (by supply chain model) RSPO has improved data collection during Principle and Criteria audits, now in addition to reporting the Total Certified Volume of RSPO certified mills, RSPO also reports the Actual Production of these mills. Furthermore, for RSPO mills that are also certified through other sustainability schemes, RSPO will include volumes sold through these 'other schemes'. This enhanced level of data collection and reporting, enables RSPO to provide greater accuracy and transparency when measuring CSPO and CSPKO production and sales. Figures inclusive of scheme and independent smallholders.

Monthly CSPO Sales (mt) Monthly CSPO sales data correspond to the confirmed shipping announcement recorded in PalmTrace for IP, SG and MB volumes, and RSPO credits (B&C model) sold by mills and ISH.
Potential Annual CSPO Volumes (mt) Total Certified Volumes is the projected volume for the coming year based on the maturity of the oil palms and production area, and the oil extraction rate. The Certified Volume is determined and audited in the annual audit process.
Annual CSPO Actual Production (AP) (mt) and Sales Actual Production is the physical volume generated by the mill in the previous year. The Actual Production is recorded during audits. The monitoring and assessment of the total certified volumes reported for the mills shows that the actual production is approximately 20% lower than the certified volume. The Certified Volume is overestimated due to agronomic/operational reasons, e.g. due to climate conditions, the expected volume was not achieved.
In addition to Monthly CSPO sales data for IP, SG and MB volumes, and RSPO credits (B&C model) sold by mills and ISH, RSPO also reports volumes sold through 'other schemes' for RSPO mills that are also certified through other sustainability schemes
